Jesus does warn that little children have angels who stand before God the Father—but it is a warning against causing children to stumble. It could mean that at the time of Jesus, little children received special attention from angels. But Jesus’ message seems to have more to do with the deep trouble you’ll be in if you mess with these kids than it does with the angels protecting them.
Even though the Malakim resembled humans, there was no mention of their having wings in the Bible. Angels take more a spiritual form as opposed to a physical one. There is no real description of what Angel’s true form is, but there are some descriptions of the bodies they assume, and they are very strange.
It’s possible that Jude would have considered Gabriel an archangel, since it’s possible that Jude pulled Michael’s title from a less-than-canonical source. I was just commenting that “if” we all indeed have a guardian angel then what is going on when it seems that he doesn’t do anything. Thank you for providing more information to better help me in studying and understanding the Word.
What about Guardian angels?
Not to be confused with One-Winged Angel, though many One Winged Angel forms can be these as well. Often invokes Holy Is Not Safe, with the angels being dangerous due to their sheer power and being on a higher plane from us Puny Earthlings. Despite the appearance, these angels can still be good, though if they’re evil or God Is Evil expect this to be more common. It is only with extreme rarity that the angelic lords make themselves physically known to humans. As Augustine of Hippo would remark, the angels were experiencing something new as the creation of God unfolded.
For the Final Boss fight, Sephiroth himself uses both Jenova’s mutagenic cells and the power of the planet to transform into two angelic forms. Both have weird misshapen wings among other freaky deformities, and the second is the Trope Namer for One-Winged Angel. Angel in Chainsaw Man is an angelic demon who’s the Anthropomorphic Personification of mankind’s fear of angels. They are vastly powerful and almost omniscient Humanoid Abominations with control over causality, and serve as the Big Bad Duumvirate of the setting. And like the lesser Apostles, they were humans who became demons through a Deal with the Devil. A sub-trope of Eldritch Abomination and Our Angels Are Different.
Then there’s Lothraxion, who is a Nathrezim infused with the Light as sort of an Ascended Demon. biblical angels scary is benevolent, if somewhat fanatical, but doesn’t look any less monstrous than his demonic brethren. In Water Womb World, the protagonist encounters what he believes to be an angel at the bottom of the ocean outside his submersible after his lights suddenly go out. The “angel” looks like some combination of a robed bishop and a giant squid, makes whale-like sounds, and beseeches the protagonist to travel deeper and “join God in full-flesh.”
It also makes sense for the Archangels and regular angels to be seen in a much more human light as they have the most human interaction. When Ezekiel has his vision of the great chariot, he describes all three of these angels as the guardians but given the strange nature of what he’s describing, some believe this was a hallucination. Others take this Ezekiel’s account as an encounter with UFOs. So, no one knows where they came from and why they look so strange. The term Angel derives from the Greek word Angelos, which is derived from the Hebrew word for messenger, Mal’ akh.
